  • Meh weather!

One minute it's scorching, the next it's pouring down with rain and it's switching between the two all day here! When will it ever end! But the worse thing is, it's clammy like a baby's bottom!

  • Situation normal then

The heavens have just opened up again here in West Yorkshire and a rumble of thunder can be heard...Hopefully it will be short-lived as only light rain was forecast on yahoo weather site for today.

TODAY: Light Rain High: 64° Low: 51°

TOMORROW Partly Cloudy High: 68 Low 53

SATURDAY Rain High: 62° Low 52

    SUNDAY Rain/Thunder High: 63° Low: 51°

Maybe I should try another weather forecast site 'cos the one here doesn't look too promising for a fair weather camper like me.
tent...i've packed my wellies and my plastic mac but should I take my super large brolly...maybe not as they have been known to make inaccurate forecasts before(wishful thinking).

As I type and look out my window the storm has passed and the sun is shining :)

  • Uh Oh, weather

    Darn,

Going to the Saul canal festival this weekend. http://www.junctionevents.org.uk/index.htm The weather looks bad. Heavy rain all the days we will be there Friday through 'til Monday.

Hope this is not true and the weather will be a bit kinder. I need to sell some stuff. Hope everyone else has a good weekend.

Feeling lots better by the wa but not top notch just yet.

  • Washing day (if the rain stays off!)

    (Sticks head out of window)

Looks resonably dry out there since it was raining yesterday and there is a fair bit of wind (Parp!) :))
I'm away to hang out my smalls (and bigs)  Trina x

  • An Apology

If you find that your postings are not appearing here as they should please post and let me know. There appears to be a minor fault in the system and if it does not come right in a few days, I will ask those concerned to check it out.

As usual I have approved all postings but the most recent one 'Changeable', for some reason is not available for all of us - only friends???? If you are not noticing the fault please let me know and I will once again check everything here.

My apology if you are suffering the same frustration as I am.

PS. A very warm welcome to all our new group members.

4 June - All seems to be normal again. Thanks to those responsible.

  • Changeable

Thank you for inviting me to the group, Skip, though where you get the idea that I live by the coast is beyond me. |-|
I've just walked back from my late night perambulation with a couple of jumbos coming in to Heathrow overhead lighting up the clouds that could have provided a bit of well needed shade during the day. It has been a warm sunny period for us around here for the last few days, interrupted by the occasional night-time shower, but it's not looking all that good for Wimbledon tomorrow:

In contrast, my moods have been dark and stormy with bright patches. I've come to accept that as the norm and I find that I'm looking forward yet again to autumn. And summer has only just begun...

  • It's sunny, it's warm.......oh no it's gone now.

    At last summer arrived today.

An absolutely gorgeous sunny day. The temperature reached a warm 25 degrees this afternoon with a stiff but warm breeze. This is more like it, this is what summer days are supposed to be like.

It was lovely to stroll around in a sleeveless top, have all the windows open in the car, gosh, even had the windows open in the house too.

But hey, this is Britain and let us never forget that. Our beautiful sunny day came to an abrupt end at around 6.30pm. The sunny skies went black and by 7.00pm we were deluged by rain, yet again. It's stopped now, but the sky is still leaden with slate grey thick cloud.

Oh well, I suppose that's the end of that then. How lovely it would be to have two days on the trot of summer.

  • Sunny day oh sunny day

Yep, sunny and warm, but not too hot today. I am off work due to a poorliness and am able to really appreciate it. On Sunday I was at a reservoir in the Peak Park clearing japanese knotweed, well for half of the day. Up there it is always wetter and windier but it was lovely. In fact I think grey clouds make the scenery more beautiful and dramatic. I hope everyone elseis having a lovely day.

  • Hi to one and all.

There have been four very interesting postings since I last posted here. Our sincere thanks to those who generously share their time with us, whether it be regularly or occasionally.

Somebody might be kind enough to put me right on this one, as I feel that I might be behind the times. When I receive a comment to my posting I always make the effort to at least acknowledge. Generally that closes that posting. Noticing that some comments are not being acknowledged, I wonder if this has become the norm. Your opinion on this possible change will be appreciated.

Of late I have been more interested in the GB weather than what we are experiencing in NZ. Yes, for every preference there is a reason. For a change I have been giving attention to taping and watching GB TV, The attraction being both the Wimbledon tennis and the NZ versus England cricket one day series.

How pleasing that to date the weather at all venues has generally been fine and warm.

  • Polar Blast

The Polar Bast has continued to pound the counrty. It has been super cold, extreemly windy and lots of rain. The irony is that the rain has not fallen in the area where the hyro lakes are. As the lake reserves are low we still are in the position where continuity of power supply is a risk and all users are being asked to save power with adds ruiing on TV daily. Expensive petrol, high food prices and now our power supply is at risk...........all a liitle disturbing....
